This Lodge is situated in Bushwillow Estate on the Vaalkop dam, with game roaming freely on the estate, birdsong wakes you in the morning, and you have the feeling "You are in the Bush"! Easily accessible, 1 hour 45 min drive from Johannesburg

There are 4 owners, each with a 25% share in the CC which owns the lodge. We have the house and 1 hectare (10 000m2) bordering onto the Vaalkop Dam. 25% share gets 13 weeks usage per year, on a fixed 3 year roster (which ensures that everyone shares equally in school holidays, long weekends, major holidays, etc). Weeks are defined as Wednesday to Wednesday, obviously with weekends being the major usage time. We swop out weeks between members where any of us have “special events” which fall outside of our roster weeks.

The lodge has a cleaning contract which ensures that between occupations a weekly clean, including linen and towel changes, is done. Cost is included in the levy. Domestic assistance is available while you are in situ, for an additional fee. Bushwillow has recently (Feb 2017) been incorporated, together with Mziki, Finfoot, and other game lodges / farms, under the Protected Areas Act. This is the key step to progressing to being incorporated into the Greater Vaalkop Dam Nature Reserve (or Elands River Nature Reserve, as it is likely to be called), which will fall under the auspices of the North West Parks Board. This will be very positive for game management and preservation, as well as massively so for property values within the incorporated area.
